Community Midwifery Care

Serving the South Carolina Midlands and Upstate,

under the supervision of Midwife Carey Glenn

My Care Philosophy

My midwifery care is rooted in trust—trust in your body, your intuition, and your unique path to motherhood. I believe you know what’s best for you and your baby, and I’m here to support you with respect, options, and deep listening. You are capable of growing, birthing, and nourishing your baby, and I trust your ability to recognize when something doesn’t feel right. When needed, I offer holistic guidance to help you navigate with confidence.

I walk beside you throughout pregnancy, offering a calm presence and gentle, nurturing touch when welcomed. I believe touch is a human right and that bodywork can transform your experience of pregnancy and birth.

Since 2017, I’ve learned from a wide range of providers and witnessed birth in many settings. These experiences have shaped my devotion to midwifery and to the sacred unfolding of each birthing journey.

It would be an honor to walk with you.

What to expect from my care

Prenatal

Prenatal visits are centered on relationship and trust. Each visit is scheduled for a full hour, giving us time to tend not only to your physical well-being, but also to your questions, concerns, and hopes for birth.

We’ll meet once a month until 32 weeks, then every two weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly from then until your baby arrives. This rhythm helps us stay closely connected as your journey unfolds.

Birth

I join you in active labor, offering steady presence and support throughout your birth. Leading up to that point, I’m available by phone or text to check in, answer questions, and help you tune in to what your body is telling you.

After your baby arrives, I stay for 2–3 hours to ensure you’re both stable, cozy, and well-supported as you settle into those first precious moments.

Postpartum

I return to your home around 24–36 hours after birth to check on you and your baby. Home visits continue on days 3, 7, and at two weeks. During these visits, I assess your healing, support breastfeeding, check on your baby’s growth and well-being, and offer emotional support as you adjust to this new chapter.

After the two-week visit, the remaining postpartum appointments take place in my office. I continue to be available by phone or text if anything comes up between visits, so that you’re never alone in this tender time.

Meet the Team

Birth Assistant & Team Doula: Holly Lozano, RN, CD

As a birth worker deeply rooted in faith and the belief that birth is a powerful, naturally designed process, I am honored to walk alongside women and families as they welcome new life. My approach is grounded in respect for the physiological process of birth, a calm and supportive presence, and a commitment to informed, holistic care.

With experience as a doula, placenta encapsulator, and birth photographer, I bring a well-rounded perspective to the birth space—offering not only practical support but emotional steadiness and reverence for each family’s unique journey. I believe that mothers thrive when they feel safe, heard, and empowered, and it’s my joy to help cultivate that kind of environment alongside a skilled midwife.

When I’m not serving birthing families, I’m homeschooling my three little ones, digging into whole-food cooking, or enjoying adventurous moments in nature. Supporting birth is a calling I hold close to my heart, and it’s a privilege to serve families in this sacred season.
